Business Districts of Bucharest: Pipera, Floreasca, Victoriei, Old Town
Bucharest’s business life is split between the office parks of the north and the old centre. Knowing which is which tells you where to stay, where to eat and how far anyone has to travel to meet you.
Pipera
The office parks along Dimitrie Pompeiu and the Pipera ring: IT, outsourcing and regional headquarters. Few classic hotels — most visitors stay in Floreasca or the north and commute 10–20 minutes. Evenings here are quiet; people go into town.
Floreasca & Barbu Văcărescu
Glass towers around Promenada mall and Sky Tower, the busiest business strip after Pipera. Restaurants by the lake, short hops to the north and to the airport. The easiest base if your meetings are here.
Victoriei & Calea Victoriei
Government, ministries and the old grand boulevard. The large international hotels sit along Calea Victoriei, five minutes from the Old Town and walkable in the evening.
Dorobanți & Romană
Embassies, quiet residential streets and the better restaurants of the centre-north. Good for a discreet dinner close to your hotel.
Old Town & Universitate
Bars and terraces, loud until late on Fridays and Saturdays. Hotels here are convenient for evenings, less so for sleep; check room position when booking.
Unirii & the Parliament
The conference end of town: the Palace of the Parliament, large event halls and the JW Marriott. Most listed profiles in Bucharest are around Unirii, so hotel visits here are the quickest to arrange.
Herăstrău, Aviatorilor & the north
The park, embassies, Romexpo and the Pullman/Crowne Plaza pair. Twenty to thirty minutes from the airport outside rush hour.
Short version
Meetings in Pipera or on Barbu Văcărescu: stay in Floreasca or the north. Meetings at ministries or banks in the centre: Calea Victoriei. A conference at the Parliament: Unirii. If the evening matters more than the commute, the centre wins — almost everything is within fifteen minutes.
